ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Beauty Bar
Part of the fun about Emmys is all the pampering that goes on beforehand. I’m spending most of the weekend in San Diego. But before I headed down, I did a little indulging at Byron & Tracey Salon’s Beauty Bar. A couple of weeks ago I tried adding an auburn tint to my hair. I haven’t been crazy about it. So Dani fixed it by doing a caramel wash and natural looking balayage highlights. I’m thrilled with the way it turned out. I guess I’m just not meant to be a readhead.
After getting a blowout with Tomas again, I ran into Charlotte Ronson, who was there promoting her I Heart Ronson for JC Penney line. She complimented my dress. I told her about Shareen Vintage, where I bought the start print piece. And then we chatted quickly about fashion week. I love how the designer makes her show a family affair by always having a big dinner with her parents and siblings. I can’t wait to see her collection on the runway in New York!

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Jalepeño Happy Hour
For my mom’s last night we met my friends Michael and Jess at happy hour at Boracho. The Mexican restaurant used to have happy hour till 7, but it’s sadly only till 6. It’s probably best, considering if I had any more jalepeno margaritas I might have fallen in my 5.8-inch heels.
I still can’t get over how comfortable the shoes are. I wore them for nearly 12 hours, walked up and down and a large hill and I wasn’t in unbearable pain when I got home. Jessica Simpson may get crap about her fashion choices sometimes but the girl sure knows how to design shoes!
I turned my dress into a top today by layering it under a skirt American Apparel sent me. Tribal necklaces made the metallic stripes of the dress work with the wood platforms.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Retro Lace
I bought this dress when H&M first opened in Boston. Every time I wear it I get compliments. The lace polka-dot print came in different silhouettes but I adore the 50s feel of the shirt dress with a flowing skirt. I swapped the black belt it came with for a cream one and then used a piece of lace I cut off an old top as a headband to bring in some more white. Once I left my house I wish I had worn different shoes. I’m not crazy about the gold. I would have preferred a chunkier, wooden heel. But from ankles up, I love the vintage feel of this look.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Lacey at XIV
This was another one of my fab E! wardrobe sale purchases. It’s H&M (not Gucci) but I still think it’s incredibly chic. I’ve gained a little weight since I bought it so it creases at my lower back. A belt hid the folds and since it was the same color as the dress it didn’t break up the body. A tan leather bag made the look a little more casual for an evening of cocktails at XIV.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Peplum Petals
This dress was one of my recent purchases from Shareen Vintage. I saw it on a hanger and fell in love the soft floral print—I was not so enamored with the length. It hit a few inches below the knee, making me look like a child playing dress-up at junior prom. That’s why tailoring is so magical. A short hemline instantly transformed the dress into a fun, flirty mini.
Tonight, we went to Moët & Chandon’s Ice Imperial launch at Nikki Beach. It’s a new champagne that is meant to be served over ice. It’s pretty genius, and the champagne sangria being served was delish. There’s nothing like ice cold bubbly on humid summer evening.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Deco Dash
I bought this dress at a massive Barney’s sale last July. Silk isn’t usually the material of choice for a hot summer day but the print is very forgiving and it’s so incredibly comfortable. For work, I used my button-down as a jacket and added this art deco style necklace I just got from lia sophia. I’m thinking of making it one of my staples for September.
