ttF Daily Fave: New York Fashion Week

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York I just touched down in New York City for Fashion Week Spring 2010! On @mystyle’s Twitter page, I’ll be keeping a photo diary of my minute-to-minute activities, and I’ll of course be giving my ThinkThruFashion readers a ‘lil something extra on @SydneSummer. Next weekend when all the insanity is over I’ll put together my fashion week trend gallery just like I did for Fall 2009 to make it easy for you to know what spring trends you should look forward to—and which ones you should fear.

The Every Summer Day Handbag: Bulga

This week is all about the bag. Reader Pink Tulip has asked me on numerous occasions about what handbags I wear with the outfits in my ThinkThru Fashion Diary on Twitter. So this week, I’m showing the seven purses I use most, paired with various looks I’ve worn this summer. Please forgive the photo quality; I use my Blackberry to take photos for my ThinkThru Fashion Diary.

Outfits with Gold Bulga Bag

Gold Bulga BagFirst up is my gold Bulga bag. A light metallic is a neutral but adds shine to any outfit. This satchel is roomy enough to fit everything I need for work, and can be worn either on my forearm or over my shoulder.

Similar Styles: Spiegel Metallic Tote ($59 $49), Nine West Monique Tote ($99 $49.99), Liz Claiborne Jackie Satchel ($182), Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo ($595)

Happy Birthday Bunny!

bday-bunnyToday is Bunny Bell’s birthday. For those of you who are not regular readers of ThinkThru Fashion, Bunny is my dog who occasionally appears in various blog posts. I adopted her one year ago from the Bill Foundation and I couldn’t be happier.

I highly recommend looking into adoption if you’re thinking about getting a dog. They have rescues for pure breeds—Bunny’s two uncles are Golden Retriever rescues—but I’m partial to mixed breeds. Bunny is a Crested Pompoo Powderpuff. Yes, I’m one of those crazy people who did a DNA test and discovered she’s a Pomeranian with traces of Poodle and Chinese Crested Powderpuff (it’s a furry variation of those funny hairless dogs).

Like a Parisian haute couture gown, Bunny is one-of-a-kind. And there’s nothing more chic than that.
