ttF Faves: Alice in Wonderland Fashion and Beauty

Alice in Wonderland World Premiere in London

It has been seven months since Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland promos inspired me to buy a baby blue D&G dress—and stare at myself in the looking glass. And I still have yet to wear it.

Now, the movie is already premiering. Yesterday, the cast braved the London rain to walk the red carpet for the world premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square. I was hoping Helena Bonham Carter would wear the silver lattice gown with red hem from Georges Chakras’ runway. But instead the Red Queen went with white. Always quirky that one.

While I prefer Anne Hathaway in more feminine gowns the Vivienne Westwood Couture and Cadadei platforms fit right in with her good on the outside dark on the inside White Queen character.

Mia Wasikowa’s nude Valentino Couture with sweet floral lace overlay was very Alice appropriate and the only look I could see myself wearing when I’m not just at home with my looking glass. Sue Wong designed a more cocktail version in her Alice in Wonderland-themed dress collection. OPI, Swarovski and good ‘ole Urban Outfitters also created items inspired by the Disney movie that you can easily incorporate into your everyday wardrobe.

ttF Faves: Nicole Richie in Paris

Nicole Richie in Paris

I think Nicole Richie needs to go to Paris more often. She always has great fashion but this week has been extra magnifique. She blended her bohemian California style with an effortless French feel.

I don’t know which I like better, the picture of her and Sparrow she posted on her website or the way she successfully combined the trendy side braid and spring’s lingerie look while launching Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 at Galleries Lafayette.

ttF Faves: Rebecca Taylor

Rebecca Taylor is one of my favorite designers to wear. She’s just so incredibly feminine and girlie—and she used faux fur for fall. Major plus.

I just came across this video I did at fashion week with Fashion Luvr Rob, reviewing the show in under a minute. It made me crave some new pieces from the designer. Below are some of faves currently available. Mena Suvari was wearing the jumpsuit with a floral belt and matching booties at the show.

ttF Faves: Antidote Skincare All Seasons Glow Self Tanner

Antidote Skincare All Seasons Glow Self TannerAs trendy as vampires may be, I personally have no interest in looking like one. But my skin has gotten to such a pale point that I was literally glowing like a Cullen in all the pictures I took this weekend.

For an instant fix this morning, I tried out a sample of Antidote Skincare’s All Season Glow self-tanning lotion that The Self Tanning Queen recently sent me. I was pleasantly surprised by the smell—or lack there of. While there’s a slight fresh laundry scent, there’s no lingering chemical fumes that cause co-workers to shoot you dirty looks during a meeting (it’s happened to me before and trust, its extremely embarrassing).

The green color is a little frightening but it produces a subtle, natural looking glow that hasn’t rubbed off on my clothing. Now all I need is a bigger bottle so I can remain vampire free for the rest of winter.

ttF Faves: Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010 Campaign

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer Ad Campaign

I know I’m a little late on the game but I had to include something about Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2010 Campaign featuring Raquel Zimmermann. I just love this photograph!

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer reptile dresses

The reptile collection as a whole, on the other hand, leaves me with mixed feelings. When I saw Camilla Belle I was in love but then Lily Cole, Noot Seear and Daphe Guiness showed up on the red carpet even before Anna Paquin shocked people in reptile at the SAG Awards. That’s the problem with such a recognizable print: you get sick of it very quickly. Still, if I could get my hands on one of the designs, I’m sure I would totally rock it. But the armadillo shoes? Not so much…
