ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Playboy Mansion ESPYs
Every year, the Playboy Mansion hosts a charity poker party during ESPYs week. I went a few years ago when I was E! Online’s Hollywood Party Girl. Even though it was much calmer than Hef’s notorious Midsummer Night’s Dream parties, where everyone is scantily clad in paint and lingerie, women still dressed on the provocative side. When my friends and I were getting ready for tonight’s annual bash we attempted to step outside our comfort zone. My Kim Kardashian for Bebe dress I got in May seemed like the perfect choice since I sadly don’t own a Hervé Léger. I piled on the jewels and turned it up a notch when it came to hair and makeup, i.e. fake lashes, teased hair and a smoky eye. I was still tame compared to over half the women at the party but anything more revealing and I wouldn’t have felt right. There’s something to be said about leaving a little to the imagination, even if you are at the Playboy mansion.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Romantic Ruffles
I completely forgot about this skirt when I was planning July’s staples. I would have used it instead of the cutoffs. It’s a different take on denim, with the pencil shape and flirty ruffles. And whenever I wear it I feel coyly sexy. The tiered top only upped the ruffle factor.
I didn’t want to compete with the rose gold embellishment on my shoes. So, I skipped the gold and silver jewelry and instead went for more subtle quartz. My friend Dahvi—as well as Spencer Pratt—is all into the meaning of these energy stones. I just think they look pretty. Although, I will admit, every since she brought me back a “transitional stone” from New York, good things have been happening.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Carrera Escape
After a long, fun-filled day at Skybar, I had literally 15 minutes to change until it was off to the next bash: the Carrera Escape Party. The sunglass brand was showing off their new line at one of my spots in LA, the Chateau Marmont penthouse. It’s been on the cooler side so I accented my LBD with a denim jacket. It’s too bad my friend doesn’t know how to work my camera but you get the idea. I walked out as Nicole Richie made her exit and started cracking up when someone said, “Can you believe Nicole buys clothes at kids’ stores?!” My denim jacket is from Gap Kids. Hey, it’s cheaper than the adult version!
After the party we had dinner at Soho house. Now I have another favorite spot in LA. Drew Barrymore, Shenae Grimes, Scott Speedman and a bunch of other celebs were there dining and drinking. It was so incredibly posh. Now I just need to find someone who lives here permanently who has a membership.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Skybar Spots
Just because my June Animal staples are over doesn’t mean I have to stop wearing leopard! Spotted silk instantly dresses up a pair of cutoffs, perfect for a daytime birthday bash. Before attending a friend’s birthday pool party at Skybar, I had brunch at Newsroom Cafe on Robertson. If you haven’t been, their Ceasar salads are a must. Then, it was off to the Mondrian to party it up at Skybar. Rubber wedges were a smart choice. Not because the bash was by the water, but because it started raining in the late afternoon! Global warming is really putting a damper on my wardrobe.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Dinner with Marcel
Often, a change of plans requires a change of wardrobe. Tonight I didn’t have that luxury. Originally, my best friend from New York planned dinner at 8:30pm at Bar 210. That would have given me enough to digest before leaving the table and going out, so a mini dress was doable. After a series of dramatic events dinner got pushed back to 11pm. And when Top Chef alum Marcel Vigneron keeps bringing you out food you have no choice but to eat it. After indulging in non-stop apps, chicken sandwiches, truffle fries and desert there was no way I’d be able to suck in my stomach. So let’s just say my outfit didn’t look as cute as it did as I left the Chamberlain hotel when these photos were taken.
On a side note, Marcel is nothing like the villain Bravo’s reality show made him out to be. His is a total sweetheart and makes the most delicious macarons I’ve tasted outside of France.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Playground Cowgirl
My denim jacket puts me in a cowgirl vibe. So today, I slipped into one of my favorite pair of boots. I bought them at an authentic Western store in the Valley that has since closed. They’re so incredibly comfortable and this is the second time I’ve used them to balance out the shorter hemline of my skirt. A white stone necklace and dark shades kept the look from being too country for the city.
