ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Office Tattoos
It is acceptable to show off tattoos at work… as long as they’re on a shirt. I bought this hand-painted tank at an art fair in Ojai. Normally, I wear it to the beach with shorts. But today I used my blazer from March’s staples to make it look more polished. Instead of simple pumps, I stuck to the quirky feel of my flag nails and added plastic shoes and a Snow White leather wrap bracelet.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Tribal Prep
Today I took inspiration from my mixed print dress and added a leopard scarf to my skirt instead of my usual neutral belt. It worked well since the skirt had similar colors. A button-up prepped things up a bit. This one has a puff sleeve, which is great if have a narrow frame or are pear shaped. It’s a more subtle take on a bold shoulder but has the same balancing effect.

ttF Fashion Diary: Harem Trials
When harem pants first started gaining popularity I was horrified. Why on earth would anyone want to look like MC Hammer? But I recently did a photo shoot for Mystyle that included harem pants. They weren’t so bad so I kept a pair and wore them to work today with the leopard top and blazer I paired with jeggings back in March. Comfort was definitely a pro. It was if I was wearing pajamas at the office. But all that space by my crotch was a definite con. It just felt weird. Will I wear the pants again? Probably not. But I certainly am not as opposed to them as I was last fashion week.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Contrast Chic
Masculine pieces, like the popular boyfriend blazer, always look fab when contrasted with ultra girlie ones. Today I layered one of last month’s staples over one of this month’s staples and added a necklace a co-worker bought me for Christmas. It’s funny; I would have never picked out this necklace for myself. It’s two strands of pearls with layers of big teardrop stones. But I absolutely adore it—and get beacoup compliments whenever I wear it. It just goes to show, it often pays off when you step outside your comfort zone.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: OK! Sexy
I kept on my dress from earlier in the day but transitioned into night for OK! Magazine’s Sexy Singles Party with a black fringe necklace, boyfriend blazer and super high platforms. I haven’t worn the shoes in years and it was a bit difficult walking across the stones on the patio at Plush. But being almost six inches taller was totally worth it.
My favorite outfit at the party was Bai Ling’s. Of course, I would never wear it but it suited the zany actress perfectly. And if you substituted the sheer glitter for a basic tee, the feather skirt would be adorable.

ttF Fashion Staples Series: Pencil and Chain
For the past two years, my go-to outfit for work has been a pencil skirt, a v-neck tee and some type of statement necklace. I talked about the versatile uniform when WorkChic profiled me in a Steal Her Style post. Today, I went with a ribbed red top and chain necklace that I found years ago at It’s a Wrap in Burbank. The store sells wardrobe from different TV shows and movies. I don’t know where this piece was worn but I had to have it.
