ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Army Girl
I’ve been trying to limit my shopping. But it’s impossible for me to go into Forever 21 and not leave with some inexpensive find. Today, while getting accessories for an upcoming shoot, I spotted this romper. It was only 20 bucks, the military color is totally on trend and the lightweight material is perfect for a hot summer day.
The elastic waist cheapens the romper but a belt quickly fixes that. Part of me felt like I needed some pins flap accents but I was nervous that would make the outfit too costumey. After brunch at Kings Road Cafe (their pesto omlette is so delish!) it got about 10 degrees hotter. So I swapped the boots for my gold Tkees sandals.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Channeling Gwyneth
It’s rare that I copy a celebrity look from head to toe. But when I saw a photo of Gwyneth Paltrow at the opening of Mario Testino’s exhibit, “Kate Who?,” I wanted her exact outfit.
Tonight, I went to dinner with my friend Ashley at Bar Marmont. And I tried to recreate the look as closely as possible with items I had in my closet. My faux agate necklace costs a fraction of Gwyneth’s diamond-studded horn. And I didn’t have her gorgeous Stella McCartney clutch. But I still felt classic and sexy in the black and white outfit, just like Gwynnie looked in London.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Beverly Hills Grooming
In honor of E!’s 20th Birthday, we got today off work. So I used the free time for grooming: brows at Anastasia Beverly Hills and a haircut with my fave stylist since I was 16, Sean at Juan Juan Salon. I really liked the California Preppy outfit I put together in January so I tried it again, this time swapping the striped shirt for a pink one. I like the stripes better but all I can focus on is my finally back to healthy hair.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Indian Countryside
I usually wear my plaid shirt with denim. But the lace skirt gave it a very Ralph Lauren, country chic feel—especially when I added a pair of riding boots. But my outfit was not chic enough for a saleswoman at Judith Ripka. I went to the Rodeo Drive store looking for a Mother’s Day gift and was horrified. I literally felt like Julia Roberts in that shopping scene from Pretty Woman. I liked my outfit but with no labels in sight, the saleswoman clearly seemed to think I was unworthy of her service—mind you, I was the only customer in the store. It just reminded why sometimes, it’s so much more pleasant shopping online.
Later, I laughed about the experience over vegetarian thali with my friends Dahvi and Jamie at my fave Indian restaurant, Flavor of India.

ttF Fashion Diary: Stop and Smell The Flowers
I rarely get out during the day but the weather has been so beautiful that I had to take a moment and soak in the California sunshine. My yellow pumps were the perfect representation of how a single moment of enjoying nature makes you feel: happy.
As for my dress, it might look familiar since I showed how to wear it 6 Different Ways last year. Today, I took inspiration from spring’s yoke dresses and layered a nude tank under the strapless to make it more office appropriate. Since it’s gotten a little big on me, I used a navy belt from a different dress to cinch my waist, which enhanced the peplum style of the dress.

ttF Fashion Diary: Mustard Wind
Lack of sleep from working Oscars made me freezing. So I layered a sweater dress under a blazer to stay warm but still chic at the office. When I stepped outside, my warmth was useless. It was so windy today!
