ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Dress L’Orange
Around this time last year, I received this inexpensive dress from a photo shoot I did with Kmart. On ThinkThruFashion, I showed how you can wear the dress six different ways. Today, I did a modified version of Look #3, which is my favorite—and the favorite of almost everyone who voted.

ttF Fashion Diary: Modern Art and New Style Sashimi
After having my hair and makeup done, getting dressed was a breeze. It was a cold rainy night so I wanted to stay warm. I turned my Missoni sweater into a dress with Twisted Silver’s necklace worn as a belt and a couple of strips of my trusty Bristol 6 Stylin’ Tape. The green and gold stripes looked beautiful with my makeup that I’m just praying I can recreate.
Speaking of beautiful, I went with my equally beautifully made up mom to Moët & Chandon’s Tom Munro exhibit. The photographer was releasing his book and proceeds went to help Malawi. The photos of the A-list actors were truly remarkable but my first pick was hands-down Kate Winslet. It took my breath away.
After some bubbly, my mom and I dined at my absolute fave restaurant in LA, Matsuhisa. So delish.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Pre-Oscar Champagne
I bought this dress on sale last June and have been dying to wear it ever since. Tonight was the perfect opportunity. I went for a monochromatic look with nude pumps, gold pearl earrings and a gold and crystal link bracelet. And I think a bright clutch is the perfect way to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit.
My first stop of the evening was a private estate in Bel Air for the 3rd Annual Women in Film event hosted by MAC Cosmetics and Perrier-Jouët. Attendees included Viola Davis, Gabourey Sidibe, the gorgeous Camilla Belle and my new girl crush Angie Harmon, who made me blush when she told me how much she adored my dress (she looked like a knockout herself in purple Dior).
After toasting with some bubbly I headed down the hill for Vanity Fair’s annual Art of Elysium auction. There, my outfit garnered more attention, which will happen if you go for a poofy shoulder, skin-tight dress. Speaking of tight, I brought my Spanx mid-thigh shapers out of hiding. They did their job cinching my waist and smoothing away any imperfection but just a tip: if you’re going to wear shapewear, don’t have too many glasses of champagne. Bloating is not comfortable with so much suction.
Then again, every once in a while if you love the way you look, it’s okay to suffer a little for fashion.

March is an incredibly busy month. There’s the Oscars, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and my birthday. Plus, it’s the end of fall and the beginning of spring. So transitional pieces were a must. Here’s the breakdown of the 6 Fashion Staples I’ll be wearing at least 6 Different times for the next 31 days:
1. Red Lips (Laura Mercier True Red Lip Pencil)
I’ve been incredibly busy recently and haven’t had as much time to get ready as I usually do. A red lip instantly dresses up any outfit and means you don’t have to worry about painting the rest of your face.
2. Statement Collar Necklace (Jimmy Choo for H&M)
After receiving copious compliments on this necklace at Marchesa’s pre-Oscar party I decided I needed to wear the jewelry more. Let’s see if I get as many accolades as I did in February.
3. Tan Blazer (Theory Blazer)
A black blazer is the ultimate basic but a lighter color helps you transition into warmer months.
4. Striped Long-Sleeve Shirt (PH8)
Black and white horizontal stripes have been all the rage for a while now. I love the French feel they have and they’re easily dressed up and down.
5. Black Cigarette Pants (Forever 21)
They were Audrey Hepubrun’s signature when she wasn’t wearing a LBD. Need I say more?
6. Nude Pumps (Steve Madden)
I’ve written about and worn Steve Madden’s Trinitie pumps ($79.95) on ThinkThruFashion more time than I can count. They’re not the most comfortable shoes in the world but I yet to find 4.5-inch heels that are. They look just like the Brian Atwood platforms every celeb has but cost a fraction of the price. While I have them in a few different colors, nude (or blush as it’s called on the site) is my favorite because it lengthens the leg.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Month #2: February Softness
This was a very hard month. Since there were only 28 days, I had to make sure to incorporate more than one Fashion Staple into many of my outfits. In total, I wore each of the 6 items at least 6 times. 1. Gray Shift Dress, Times worn this month: 6
1. Burberry’s 3D Debut 2. Chain Reaction 3. Kicking Off Oscars With Audi & Marchesa 4. From Green to Gray 5. British Vogue 6. Remembering Alexander McQueen

ttF Fashion Diary: Kicking Off Oscars with Audi & Marchesa
I said goodbye to February with a bang tonight at Audi’s Oscars Kick Off Party at Cecconi’s. The car company held another fashion installation, this time featuring gorgeous gowns from Marchesa’s spring collection. The dress I’m posing with above has been worn by Camilla Belle, who hosted the evening in yet another feathered creation by Georgina Chapman. But my fave was the backless beaded beauty Diane Kruger wore at the Inglorious Basterds premiere in Cannes. As I said on Twitter, I would die to wear that gown.
As for me, although I can’t afford Marchesa, I thought my ruffles and crystals were the perfect choice for a feminine Sunday evening cocktail soiree.
