ttF Faves: Rebecca Taylor

Rebecca Taylor is one of my favorite designers to wear. She’s just so incredibly feminine and girlie—and she used faux fur for fall. Major plus.

I just came across this video I did at fashion week with Fashion Luvr Rob, reviewing the show in under a minute. It made me crave some new pieces from the designer. Below are some of faves currently available. Mena Suvari was wearing the jumpsuit with a floral belt and matching booties at the show.

ttF Fashion Diary: Winter Florals
Happy Valentine’s Day! To tell you the truth, I actually forgot about the holiday because all that’s on my mind is fashion this week. But when I remembered it was heart day, I decided to take my daily photo in the Heart Truth booth at the tents, posing with a dress Fergie wore in a past show.

Since I was seeing Rebecca Taylor in the morning, I wore one of my favorite pieces I own from the designer and I threw my hair into Spring’s trendy side braid after it refused to cooperate.

Like usual, Rebecca made me want just about every piece in her collection and I was beyond thrilled she went faux in this fur-filled season. Luca Luca was also a highlight today. There was so much movement in the gowns and pleated skirts. I was under-impressed with Hervé Léger but overly impressed with Malandrino. Catherine Malandrino went tribal ultra luxe for fall with textured leathers, leopard, cavewoman chic jewelry and killer platform shoes. The blue velvet look below was my fave at the presentation.

ttF Fave: Rebecca Taylor Fall 2010 Sneak Peek

Rebecca Taylor Fall 2010 Sneak PeekSunday afternoon I’ll be attending Rebecca Taylor’s Fall 2010 show. Here’s a sneak peek:

The fall 2010 collection was inspired by a mixture of 70’s Parisian attitude and an urban New York City girl.  With a renewed love for classic sportswear, silhouettes have been re-worked with a twist to give subtle edge on signature feminine designs.  The palette includes dusty hues and new neutrals contrasted with military olives and hints of old gold.  Fabrics are washed to provide a worn, overly-loved appeal and are combined with cashmere wool suits, leopard faux furs and down quilted coats, together giving this collection an affordable luxe quality.

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends: Excited For… Bustiers

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends Bustiers

Bustiers
Dolce & Gabbana has always been one of my favorite designers to wear. The minute I could afford it, I bought my first D&G bustier dress. Over the years, I’ve collected a decent amount of bustier tops and can’t wait to wear them. The runways showed them over cropped pants but you can also tuck one into a skirt, like Katie Cassidy did at Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood Party.

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends: Hesitant About… Sweatshirts

Sweatshirts
Sure they’re comfy but loungewear doesn’t always translate to the streets. While some of the sweatshirt styles that came done the runway were wearable and very Norma Kamali, others I would never leave the house in.

ttF Daily Fave: Rebecca Taylor Spring Inspiration

Rebecca Taylor Spring 2010 SketchNew York Fashion Week is just a few days away but I’ve already been getting some previews into what we’ll be seeing for Spring 2010. One of the shows I’ll be attending, Rebecca Taylor, sent a sneak peek of the Rebecca Taylor spring girl, who “explores urban femininity. She works, lives and plays in the city. Towering printed sandals and architectural structured stretch dresses are softened with femme corset-inspired bustiers and flippy, fun, pull on printed skirts.  Our girl likes to wear her boyfriend’s blazers and super soft cashmere athletic inspired sweaters thrown over top tiny leather skirts.”

I’m a little bored of the boyfriend blazer for now. But I am looking forward to seeing all the color that will sashay down the runway. There will be reds, pinks, blues, jade, tans and peach—and plenty of girlie prints. Judging by the sketch, it’s going to be a fun, flirty and feminine show. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Rebecca Taylor.
