Bright Pink
Bright colors are exciting. But when you keep seeing hot pink season after season, you start getting bored. Now, if it was neon pink, that would be a completely different story. I’m obsessed with neon. But the Barbie color is too Legally Blonde for me to wear all the time.

Lace
One of the wonderful things about lace is you can wear it whether you’re a rocker or a girlie-girl. I personally would do anything for Marchesa’s strapless-stunning!

Bows
You know that scene in Cinderella where the evil stepsisters rip off the bows on the dress Cinderella’s animal friends made? That’s what I felt like doing at times during fashion week. The big bows often distracted from the beauty of the clothing. And if you remember, Cinderella’s magical dress from her fairy godmother was bow free.

Last night, I traded a Kate Spade purse for this Oscar de la Renta gown. I know, I’d be jealous too if I read that. It was at What Goes Around Comes Around’s vintage swap party. Guests brought one to three items and were given an A, B or C ticket upon arrival depending on the value of what they were swapping. I only got a C but my sweet, sweet friend gave me her B so I could get the gown. Now I just need to figure out where I can wear it!

When I think All-American actress, Cameron Diaz instantly comes to mind. With her blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, all she needs is a swipe of red lipstick to look patriotic. But Cam takes it one step further, whether she’s coordinating with the red carpet in Michael Kors polka dots and stripes or Oscar de la Renta florals and lace, modeling head-to-toe denim on the cover of Marie Claire or keeping it simple in jeans and a white button-down or tank. Whatever your plans are for this July 4th holiday weekend, you can take some style inspiration from this red, white and blue beauty.

Hot pink is huge for spring so I’m happy to see that it’s carrying into fall. I suggest buying a seasonless magenta top now in silk or chiffon that can carry you through the year.
