ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Go for the Rose Gold
As much as I try to clean out my closet ever year, there are a few items I can never part with. One, is this sheer baseball top I bought when I was 17. I haven’t worn it in years, but considering sheer and crop tops are trends, there’s no better time to bring it back. I paired it with a chiffon skirt I also bought years and years ago and layered a camisole underneath so it wasn’t too revealing for work.
When I got my eyebrows done at Anastasia Beverly Hills at lunchtime, my fabulous waxer Tracy, said she loved the blush look. I usually think I don’t have enough pink in my skin to wear the color but the bone and yellow accents made it easier to pull off. On a side note, doesn’t Bunny looks adorbs in her summer cut?

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Volunteer Tuesday
I recently started volunteering as a personal shopper at Dress for Success. The organization helps prepare women for the work place by providing them with career tips and clothing. When a woman is interviewing for a job, they come and get dressed in a suit. When they get the job, they can come back and get five office appropriate outfits.
Today was my second week as a personal shopper and I can’t even begin to describe what an incredibly rewarding experience it has been. It proves how important fashion is in helping a woman’s confidence. My client today came in a little nervous about her interview. When she saw herself in a cream suit with a black striped shell and pumps she smiled and told me she thinks she’s going to get the job. I hope she does so she can come back and I can dress her again!
As for me, I didn’t dress for success, I went for comfort. The West Coast headquarters is still fairly new, so there are boxes galore. When I wasn’t dressing a client, I helped organize, which isn’t an activity for a dress or suit. Jeans and classic loafers (which have been super popular with celebs recently) was a more sensible choice.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Socks With Sandals
I really haven’t been a fan of the socks with sandals trend. But for a recent photo shoot, I had to show to make the trend work—and I ended up sort of liking it. So much so, that I decided to rocks the socks the next day to work. It worked for a couple of reasons: 1) The socks are a very similar color to the shoe, much like Burberry’s spring runway. And 2) the rest of my outfit was a little retro, which worked with the quirky footwear.
Will I wear start wearing socks every day? Certainly not. But when I’m due for a pedi and don’t feel like wearing boots, at least I know the option is available.

ttF Fashion Diary: Pre-Oscar Puppy Brunch
Considering it’s going to be a long evening dishing about Oscars fashion and beauty I wanted to have a relaxing morning. So my mom and I took Bunny and Bear (my mom’s Golden) to meet my best friend Shauna and her pup, Simba, at Sunset Plaza for brunch. It was such a beautiful day I wanted to stay outside forever. But alas, I had to get my green tea latte from Starbucks and head to the office to get ready to critique the red carpet.

What should I be for Halloween? That’s the question I’ve been hearing for the past week. If you’re like me you’ve already been thinking about what to wear this year. But if you’re costume clueless, here’s some inspiration straight off the runways of New York, Milan and Paris. Hit up your local vintage shop, dig through your closet, break out the glue gun and have fun!

Ruffles
Just as I was starting to grow tired of ruffles, Badgley Mischka sends a model down the runway with a ruffled skirt and blazer and I fall in love all over again.
