ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Skybar Spots
Just because my June Animal staples are over doesn’t mean I have to stop wearing leopard! Spotted silk instantly dresses up a pair of cutoffs, perfect for a daytime birthday bash. Before attending a friend’s birthday pool party at Skybar, I had brunch at Newsroom Cafe on Robertson. If you haven’t been, their Ceasar salads are a must. Then, it was off to the Mondrian to party it up at Skybar. Rubber wedges were a smart choice. Not because the bash was by the water, but because it started raining in the late afternoon! Global warming is really putting a damper on my wardrobe.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Tribal Prep
Today I took inspiration from my mixed print dress and added a leopard scarf to my skirt instead of my usual neutral belt. It worked well since the skirt had similar colors. A button-up prepped things up a bit. This one has a puff sleeve, which is great if have a narrow frame or are pear shaped. It’s a more subtle take on a bold shoulder but has the same balancing effect.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: WeHo Warrior Princess
When I was trying on clothing in my bedroom this scarf worked as a top. I wrapped it around my chest, tucked the ends into a strapless bra and voila! A tube top was born. But I failed to test what would happen when I started to move. So today, as I walked down Santa Monica boulevard with Jamie to meet our friend Michael, the scarf started to unravel. At one point I literally had to hold my chest and duck into a corner to adjust. The problem continued at The Abbey. Luckily, it was a) a bar in the heart of West Hollywood and b) I had a massive warrior princess necklace to distract from my wardrobe malfunction. Next time I try to wear a scarf as a top, I am definitely layering a basic bandeau underneath.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Maxi on Melrose
Earlier today I used my scarf as a belt. But my hair got a little messed up so I transformed the leopard into a headband. My friend said she would never have thought to mix a tropical print with leopard. But I look at animal prints as a neutral. You can wear them with solids, brights or even florals.
A comfy maxi was the perfect choice for a Friday filled with food and cocktails. No matter how much I ate or drank, nobody would ever know, thanks to an empire waist. The stacked bangles and leather jacket I threw on when in got cold later in the evening were very Nicole Richie boho inspired. And how cool is the impromptu backdrop my friend Jamie and I found on Melrose?

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Fire Truck Safari
Scarves are so extremely versatile. One day you can wear them around your neck and the next they transform into a belt. Today I did the latter. I took inspiration from this season’s safari chic trend and accessorized an army green dress with bronze and leopard. These wedges are probably one of my best Forever 21 shoe purchases. They are modeled after the YSLs that were extremely popular with celebs last summer. Except instead of costing a month’s paycheck, they were only about 20 bucks… and nobody would know the difference.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Marquis Martinis
The Eclipse premiere went so well that I had to have a little drink to celebrate—plus, I still had my incredible on-air makeup, compliments of Sabrina. So, I went to the Sunset Marquis with Jen, who handled the social media for the live coverage. It was just a low key evening so jeans, a long-sleeve tee and some chains were all I needed to go with the leopard shoes.
