ttF Fashion Diary: Loft Style Studio

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Loft Style Studio
Aside from my vintage Anne Taylor belt, I’ll admit I never really thought much about the brand. But that has majorly changed. Anne Taylor LOFT has now transformed into LOFT Style Studio, and is full of fresh, young and modern pieces. Stylist Nicole Chavez hosted a party tonight for LOFT at one of my fave West Hollywood spots: the Chateau Marmont penthouse.

Models lounged outside on the gorgeous patio and inside the adorable decorated bedrooms decked out in LOFT’s fall collection (Mondette took some great pics of the clothes). Fashion director Alia Ahmed-Yahia collaborated with stylists Tina Chai, Kate Young and Joanne Blades to create cool combos that mixed professional sophistication with flirty elegance. I absolutely adored the ruffled pink dress America’s Next Top Model’s Eugena Washington showed off (I had to tell her how beautiful I thought she was in Caridee English’s season). Other celebs in attendance included Kristen Bell, Brittany Snow and one of my fave young fashionistas, Jessica Stroup.

I could have really used the little LOFT faux fur vest to wear with my cami. It got so chilly as I sipped wine with my blogger pals Laurie B Style, Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis, Style Smith and Debutante Clothing. Maybe I’ll have to just have to pick one up when the new collection launches.

In the meantime, you can take 40% off your entire LOFT purchase! Shop new spring arrivals and enter FIX40 at checkout.

Snow leopard is my favorite animal print to wear. It’s so subtle you can pair it with a crystal statement necklace without looking tacky. And speaking of favorites, Dirty Dancing will forever be in my top five movie list so when I saw this retro shirt, I had to scoop it up ASAP.

I knew I wasn’t going have time to change today before I went out so I needed an outfit that could easily transition from the office to a club. The t-shirt material of my top made the collar necklace less dressy for day while the leather jacket and platforms took the outfit into night. I was going to go sans tights but thank goodness I kept them on! We stopped the soft launch of Drai’s, a new nightclub at the W hotel in Hollywood, and it was freezing by the pool. Then it was off to Bar Marmont for Jamie aka Queen of Quarter Life Crisis‘ birthday.

March is an incredibly busy month. There’s the Oscars, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and my birthday. Plus, it’s the end of fall and the beginning of spring. So transitional pieces were a must. Here’s the breakdown of the 6 Fashion Staples I’ll be wearing at least 6 Different times for the next 31 days:

1. Red Lips (Laura Mercier True Red Lip Pencil)
I’ve been incredibly busy recently and haven’t had as much time to get ready as I usually do. A red lip instantly dresses up any outfit and means you don’t have to worry about painting the rest of your face.

2. Statement Collar Necklace (Jimmy Choo for H&M)
After receiving copious compliments on this necklace at Marchesa’s pre-Oscar party I decided I needed to wear the jewelry more. Let’s see if I get as many accolades as I did in February.

3. Tan Blazer (Theory Blazer)
A black blazer is the ultimate basic but a lighter color helps you transition into warmer months.

4. Striped Long-Sleeve Shirt (PH8)
Black and white horizontal stripes have been all the rage for a while now. I love the French feel they have and they’re easily dressed up and down.

5. Black Cigarette Pants (Forever 21)
They were Audrey Hepubrun’s signature when she wasn’t wearing a LBD. Need I say more?

6. Nude Pumps (Steve Madden)
I’ve written about and worn Steve Madden’s Trinitie pumps ($79.95) on ThinkThruFashion more time than I can count. They’re not the most comfortable shoes in the world but I yet to find 4.5-inch heels that are. They look just like the Brian Atwood platforms every celeb has but cost a fraction of the price. While I have them in a few different colors, nude (or blush as it’s called on the site) is my favorite because it lengthens the leg.

ttF Fashion Diary: Kicking Off Oscars with Audi & Marchesa
I said goodbye to February with a bang tonight at Audi’s Oscars Kick Off Party at Cecconi’s. The car company held another fashion installation, this time featuring gorgeous gowns from Marchesa’s spring collection. The dress I’m posing with above has been worn by Camilla Belle, who hosted the evening in yet another feathered creation by Georgina Chapman. But my fave was the backless beaded beauty Diane Kruger wore at the Inglorious Basterds premiere in Cannes. As I said on Twitter, I would die to wear that gown.

As for me, although I can’t afford Marchesa, I thought my ruffles and crystals were the perfect choice for a feminine Sunday evening cocktail soiree.

One Jimmy Choo for H&M Leather One-Shoulder Dress, 3 Different Looks

One Jimmy Choo for H&M Leather One-Shoulder Dress, 3 Different Looks

Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon is no doubt a stunning woman. But I wasn’t particularly drawn to the one-shoulder leather Jimmy Choo for H&M dress she wore to the collection’s launch party in Los Angeles.

But while waiting to checkout the other week at the H&M on Sunset, my friend came over and said she saw the dress in my size in the dressing room. I figured I might as well try it on (what else was I going to do in the longest wait ever to pay?). It fit like a glove so I had to get it. Unfortunately, it’s going back. While styling this shoot, I notice a hole on the side seaming. That should not happen to a dress that’s over 200 bucks. But I hope I find a similar one soon because I really do love it!
