ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Retro Lace
I bought this dress when H&M first opened in Boston. Every time I wear it I get compliments. The lace polka-dot print came in different silhouettes but I adore the 50s feel of the shirt dress with a flowing skirt. I swapped the black belt it came with for a cream one and then used a piece of lace I cut off an old top as a headband to bring in some more white. Once I left my house I wish I had worn different shoes. I’m not crazy about the gold. I would have preferred a chunkier, wooden heel. But from ankles up, I love the vintage feel of this look.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Boys Club
I’ve always been a girlie-girl. I love feminine ruffles, tulle and lace. But when American Apparel sent me these trousers, I immediately saw them paired with a vest. Sometimes, it’s fun to step outside your comfort zone. Now I said step, not leap. I had the pants cropped so I could wear heels (oxford flats just aren’t flattering when you’re 5′3 in pleated pants). And I kept my tank fitted to show I still had some curves.
My coworker, Brett, said it was his favorite look I’ve ever worn! I wouldn’t necessarily go that far but sometimes it’s fun to play with the boys.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Lacey at XIV
This was another one of my fab E! wardrobe sale purchases. It’s H&M (not Gucci) but I still think it’s incredibly chic. I’ve gained a little weight since I bought it so it creases at my lower back. A belt hid the folds and since it was the same color as the dress it didn’t break up the body. A tan leather bag made the look a little more casual for an evening of cocktails at XIV.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Happy Clogs
When I was in Miami, Steve Madden had an offer I couldn’t refuse: get 30% off fall styles, and then pick any shoe from their clearance wall for $20. I choose these clogs. I’ve been hesitant about the clog trend (the shoes are comfy but not exactly the most flattering). But the peep-toe on these platforms don’t cut off the ankle as much as the closed toe version.
A bright cardigan and studded belt transformed my dress from sexy to office appropriate with a bit of edge. My favorite color, yellow, + new shoes = me happy.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Goddess
I bought this headband at an art fair down in Laguna and whenever I wear it I feel like a goddess. I could have gone all out ala Nicole Richie with the whole Grecian theme but instead mixed it up with a classic LBD and funky shoes. I had to do my usual twirl in the skirt and instead of a belt, I went for a bold statement necklace I received at last moth’s LOFT party. The coolest thing about the necklace is you can tie the ribbon around your waist as a belt. I’m thinking of doing that when I style my Ann Taylor dress for Society Stylist’s “Little Black Dress Experiment” Tours America. I’m super excited to be featured as one of the 31 bloggers next month!

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: LBD P.Y.T.
I loved last week’s twirling pictures so much that I wore another full skirted dress today to play in the park. There’s just something so flirty and feminine about this silhouette. With the sunglasses and leopard shoes I felt like a playful Audrey Hepburn.
I had to wear my new Lyric Culture bangles, too. I received them after attending a press preview yesterday. They’re engraved with Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T.” lyrics. The entire line is all about music. So if you’re a rock ‘n’ roll girl or just have a Beatles obsession, I highly recommend checking it out.
As for my nails? Everyone has been raving about green. So this morning, I decided to try it with O.P.I. It’s fun on other people but I just couldn’t get into the color. Plus, I realized when I got to work that it was almost the exact hue as the Celtics. Being a Lakers fan, I quickly had to remedy that situation with some whiteout.
