Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends: Still Loving… Ruffles

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends: Still Loving… Ruffles

Ruffles
Just as I was starting to grow tired of ruffles, Badgley Mischka sends a model down the runway with a ruffled skirt and blazer and I fall in love all over again.

Lavender
Purple is one of the hottest colors for fall-and for spring, too. Just a lighter shade.

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends: Still Loving… Jumpsuits

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends Jumpsuits Jumpsuits
I’m so happy this trend is here to stay. Jumpsuits and rompers can be extremely flattering-and comfortable, too! I won’t be trying the cropped versions, though. Even though the models at Carolina Herrera and Halston looked great in them I need the wider floor-length leg to add height.

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends: Tired Of… One-Sleeve

Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week Trends One-Sleeve

One-Sleeve
I go back and forth with this trend. Every once in a while, I’ll see a woman wearing a one-sleeve dress and like it. But for the majority of the time I find myself thinking how cold that bare arm must be.

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Still Loving… Feathers

feathersFeathers have been trendy for quite some time now, so thankfully there are affordable options. But I’m excited for the new feather prints, like the peacock ones at Cynthia Steffe. I can get the look without worrying that my dog will attack my dress (I don’t know why, but Bunny is drawn to feathers. And if you have a cat, forget about it!)

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Hesitant About… Thigh High Boots

hip-high-bootsOK, I’ll admit the Nicholas Kirkwood hip high boots at Rodarte were fierce. But personally, it’s hard for me to see a woman in real life wearing boots that high without thinking of Pretty Woman—pre-Julia Roberts’ ladylike makeover.
