ttF Fashion Diary: Mustard Wind
Lack of sleep from working Oscars made me freezing. So I layered a sweater dress under a blazer to stay warm but still chic at the office. When I stepped outside, my warmth was useless. It was so windy today!

ttF Fashion Diary: Purple Pampering
Oscar weekend can be stressful but boy does it have its perks. One of them being there are many opportunities to get pampered. Today, I took my mother, who’s visiting for the weekend, to the Pre-Oscar Prep and Primp Party at the Argyle Salon & Spa to celebrate the new Oribe concept salon. Gaudy PR handled the event and the fab Avo Yermagyn (the male pictured below) set up hair and makeup for us. I got an amazing blowout by Joseph Chase then makeup by Sharon Gault aka Mama Makeup (the redhead) and Ashlee D (the Angelina Jolie look-a-like). Yes, I had two people working on me. It was pretty awesome. Plus, they used Youngblood, which is rapidly becoming one of my fave makeup brands.
As we got glammed up rainy night downstairs, Penelope Cruz was getting made up upstairs at the Sunset Tower Hotel, the same spot where every A-lister will be after the Oscars for Vanity Fair’s annual party.
On a side note, I just realized I must really like purple and turquoise together. This is the second time in just a couple of weeks that I’ve worn the color combo.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Channeling Anna Kendrick
Last night I saw Anna Kendrick at a pre-Oscar event poolside at the Beverly Wilshire. She was wearing a white Louis Vuitton coat with black and white sleeves poking out underneath. I really liked the look so I put my own spin on it today with a green skirt and flat boots. I rarely wear clip on earrings but for some reason these gold ones called my name as the finishing touch to the outfit.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Lights, Camera, Fashion!
Anastasia Soare of Anastasia Beverly Hills and Fashion Editor Merle Ginsberg hosted a pre-Oscar beauty party last night at the new Anastasia salon in Brentwood. I am happy to say I am no longer an Anastasia virgin. Claudia, who did my brows, was a genius and I couldn’t be happier.
Now, if only I could find a portable steamer. After sitting down all day, my silk printed top turned into a creased mess. Thankfully, I had bright red pumps to serve as a distraction. They’re gotten more comfortable third time around and it’s hilarious how many compliments I get on my $10 purchase. Just goes to show, you don’t always need to spend the big bucks on Louboutins.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Golden Buttons
When I checked the weather this morning, it said a high of 60. Perfect, I thought. I can wear my yummy cashmere turtleneck. It has these gold buttons that run down the side of the neck, giving it a slight military feel.
But Mr. Weather.com was wrong and left me overheated on my walk to Ralphs during my lunch break. Today was the only day I was thankful that our office air conditioner is on overdrive.

March is an incredibly busy month. There’s the Oscars, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and my birthday. Plus, it’s the end of fall and the beginning of spring. So transitional pieces were a must. Here’s the breakdown of the 6 Fashion Staples I’ll be wearing at least 6 Different times for the next 31 days:
1. Red Lips (Laura Mercier True Red Lip Pencil)
I’ve been incredibly busy recently and haven’t had as much time to get ready as I usually do. A red lip instantly dresses up any outfit and means you don’t have to worry about painting the rest of your face.
2. Statement Collar Necklace (Jimmy Choo for H&M)
After receiving copious compliments on this necklace at Marchesa’s pre-Oscar party I decided I needed to wear the jewelry more. Let’s see if I get as many accolades as I did in February.
3. Tan Blazer (Theory Blazer)
A black blazer is the ultimate basic but a lighter color helps you transition into warmer months.
4. Striped Long-Sleeve Shirt (PH8)
Black and white horizontal stripes have been all the rage for a while now. I love the French feel they have and they’re easily dressed up and down.
5. Black Cigarette Pants (Forever 21)
They were Audrey Hepubrun’s signature when she wasn’t wearing a LBD. Need I say more?
6. Nude Pumps (Steve Madden)
I’ve written about and worn Steve Madden’s Trinitie pumps ($79.95) on ThinkThruFashion more time than I can count. They’re not the most comfortable shoes in the world but I yet to find 4.5-inch heels that are. They look just like the Brian Atwood platforms every celeb has but cost a fraction of the price. While I have them in a few different colors, nude (or blush as it’s called on the site) is my favorite because it lengthens the leg.
