ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Livening Up Gray
I’ve mentioned before how important it is for a pencil skirt to have a little stretch to it. This one does not. But I love it so much I continue to wear it, despite the fact that sitting down and walking on any stairs is quite difficult. Since my bottom was so restricting, I kept it looser on top by unbuttoning my shirt and layering a cami that matched the skirt underneath. A turquoise necklace added a pop of color. And since I was feeling particularly festive today, I even added another color on my hands. While I prefer yellow with turquoise, the orange brought me be back to my childhood watching the Miami Dolphins at Joe Robbie Stadium.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Fashion and Fare
When you wear neon, you’re going to get noticed. And when the neon is as stylish as these Manolos my friend me got for my birthday, getting noticed is a good thing.
Today, Jen and I decided to get lunch at the World Fare bustaurant (it’s one of my fave food trucks). As we ordered a burger and truffle mac and cheese balls I heard a man compliment my shoes in a South African accent. It was the owner, Travis. Since he liked my shoes and Jen’s glasses, we each got a red velvet cheesecake bunny on the house. It totally beat Sprinkles.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Kicking Off Emmys with Audi & Chopard
Audi always throws the best parties during awards season. Instead of celebrating night of, they usually kick off the week with a star-studded bash. For Golden Globes, they showcased vintage fashion and for Oscars, they teamed up with Marchesa. Tonight, they joined forces with Chopard and I literally almost died over some of the jewels showcased at the event.
I brought my mom as my date. Doesn’t she look stunning in her asymmetrical LBD? As for me, I was able to squeeze into the white dress I originally planned to wear to the ThinkThruFashion Accessory Swap Soiree. I couldn’t really breathe in the dress, or munch on the yummy apps being passed around at Cecconi’s. But it was worth it. I felt confident and got a bunch of compliments, including one from True Blood’s Ashley Jones, who was a total doll.
Also at the bash? Co-host Jane Lynch, the gorgeous Jessica Lowndes, Cheryl Hines (who also opted for white), Karina Smirnoff, Kathy Griffin, the breathtaking Sara Ramirez and a ton of Modern Family and Glee stars.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Army Girl
I’ve been trying to limit my shopping. But it’s impossible for me to go into Forever 21 and not leave with some inexpensive find. Today, while getting accessories for an upcoming shoot, I spotted this romper. It was only 20 bucks, the military color is totally on trend and the lightweight material is perfect for a hot summer day.
The elastic waist cheapens the romper but a belt quickly fixes that. Part of me felt like I needed some pins flap accents but I was nervous that would make the outfit too costumey. After brunch at Kings Road Cafe (their pesto omlette is so delish!) it got about 10 degrees hotter. So I swapped the boots for my gold Tkees sandals.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Dirty Dancing
My friend Michael nailed it when he guessed what inspired my outfit tonight: Dirty Dancing. Since I wasn’t going to be crawling on the floor with Patrick Swayze to “Love is Strange,” I did a more moderate version of Jennifer Grey’s iconic look. Instead of tying my top to show my entire midriff, I only revealed a slip of skin. It was a wise choice, considering the massive dinner I had at Izaka-Ya by Katsu-Ya before heading to Palihouse to celebrate the beautiful Nadine Jolie’s birthday.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Olive Peach
This weekend, my mom’s visiting. So we’re having major girl time. Today was haircuts at Juan Juan (I’ve been seeing owner Sean J. since I was 16) then a little shopping at Century City. It’s finally warm in Los Angeles, so I wore this sheer top American Apparel sent me. I never would have picked it out myself, but it’s so incredibly comfortable and the lightweight material looks even better when it gets crinkled. How rare is that?! I originally paired it with denim cutoffs but my mother hates the ripped short looks. So I swapped the jeans for olive and I actually prefer the color combo. It’s softer and more sophisticated. Thanks mom.
