ttF Fashion Staples Series Month #2: February Softness
This was a very hard month. Since there were only 28 days, I had to make sure to incorporate more than one Fashion Staple into many of my outfits. In total, I wore each of the 6 items at least 6 times. Although the outfit I created to kick off February was black and gray, the majority of my looks are either pink, red or green (my favorite colors to pair with gray).
Here’s the breakdown for February…

1. Gray Shift Dress, Times worn this month: 6

Now that February’s staples are over and off to get laundered it’s time to get started on March! It’s a big month: Oscars, St. Patrick’s Day, LA Fashion Week and my birthday. Check back on ThinkThruFashion to see what staples I come up with.

ttF Fashion Diary: Kicking Off Oscars with Audi & Marchesa
I said goodbye to February with a bang tonight at Audi’s Oscars Kick Off Party at Cecconi’s. The car company held another fashion installation, this time featuring gorgeous gowns from Marchesa’s spring collection. The dress I’m posing with above has been worn by Camilla Belle, who hosted the evening in yet another feathered creation by Georgina Chapman. But my fave was the backless beaded beauty Diane Kruger wore at the Inglorious Basterds premiere in Cannes. As I said on Twitter, I would die to wear that gown.
As for me, although I can’t afford Marchesa, I thought my ruffles and crystals were the perfect choice for a feminine Sunday evening cocktail soiree.

I tried going to Runyon Canyon this morning but since it was a beautiful day there was zero parking. So I came back to change and go for lunch at Cuvee on Robertson, so delicious. Clearly, I was still feeling my neon theme from last night’s space party.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Space Party
The space party was a success… and I managed to include one of my February ttF Fashion Staples in my costume (it’s hard to see in the photo but I pinned a crystal brooch on the neckline of the silver bustier).
I ended up recycling parts of my Emma Frost costume from Halloween, adding neon tights and colorful hair extensions from a Paris Hilton’s beauty launch. At first I had plain pigtails but my friend said I looked too Cheetah Girls so I created crazy twists with bobby pins and way too much hairspray. I finished the”Starbot” transformation using the paint in my goodie bag from MAC’s Pro to Pro party.
Other standout costumes at the party were the birthday boy and his Lady Gaga monster girlfriend, who glowed like the galaxy by cracking open glow sticks and spraying them all over white clothing. Even Bunny got into the theme, and became a low rider with blue glow sticks attached to her harness.

ttF Fashion Diary: A W Afternooon
Craaaaazy day. I had to run errands downtown this morning to help my friend find a costume for the space party I’m throwing him tonight. Then I stopped by Angeleno’s pre-Oscar event at the W Hotel in Hollywood and then the lovely Sinead, aka Self Tanning Queen, put together a blogger event at her suite at the posh hotel (Her assistant Carrie and I are posing with our moustache jewelry below).
Mind you, it’s 8:30pm, I just got home and have not yet cleaned, decorated or figured out my costume. The party starts in an hour.
But back to daytime: I needed an outfit that I could run around in and be comfortable. A tunic, boyfriend cardi and leggings did just the trick. Ok, gtg. Need to set up for my soiree!
DBG tunic, Vince cardigan, Forever 21 Fab leggings (I always stock up on these because they’re only $4.50! They’re in the get the look shopping gallery below), Hogan boots, Demistasse necklace, earrings (can’t remember)

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Jumpsuiting Around
Today was a fashion challenge. I needed to create an outfit with February’s fashion staples that could take me from the office, to a Laker game and then to a birthday cocktail party. Luckily, I had epiphany upon remembering how I styled my jumpsuit in an Ask ThinkThru post on what to wear from work to an event.
For work, I played with color, pairing a turquoise necklace with my purple cardi. When it was time for the game, I threw the necklace in my purse and added purple and gold cuffs to watch the Lakers beat Philadelphia. After leaving Staples center, I added some sparkle with oversize hoops and left the cardigan in the car to sex it up a bit for a party in the hills. And my trusty Michael Kors Berkley sandals took me from 10am to 1am. Of course my feet were thrilled to slip into EMUs when I got home to walk Bunny but they didn’t even start hurting until the 10th hour. Pretty amazing for a 4-inch heel, huh? I’ve recommended these sandals before and my friends have thanked me numerous times. They’re incredibly comfortable—and now they’re on sale, too.

*Note: I only recommend the Kors sandals in black patent or fabric. I just steered a reader away from gunmetal. The shoe doesn’t look nearly as nice in metallic or animal print.
