ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Tickled Pink
I really liked my outfit today but after staying up way too late last night playing Bingo at Barney’s, my face just wasn’t camera ready. My friend Dahvi received an interesting thank you package from the Booty Parlor at work. So after deleting five pictures she took of me because I hated the bags under my eyes, I picked up her new boa and struck a pose.

Feathers
Last Halloween, I created a Woodstock costume with bags and bags of yellow feathers that I hot glue-gunned onto a skirt. After seeing the continuance of the plumage trend, I’m debating wearing that skirt when it’s not October 31st!

Last night, I attended Zara Terez Zimmerman’s West Coast Handbag Launch at the Mondrian hotel. When I saw this Birds of a Feather clutch ($375) it was love at first night. I think I stood in front of that glass case staring at the dramatic plumage for a full minute. The bag also comes in green and bright yellow but the more natural brown is my fave.
Many of the big fall trends from New York and London carried over to Milan. We saw sheer, lamé, metallics, bright furs, one-sleeve dresses, feathers, plaid, shorts and thigh-high boots. Prada actually made me hate thigh-high boots more than I did before. I was a not a fan of their collection.

Feathers have been trendy for quite some time now, so thankfully there are affordable options. But I’m excited for the new feather prints, like the peacock ones at Cynthia Steffe. I can get the look without worrying that my dog will attack my dress (I don’t know why, but Bunny is drawn to feathers. And if you have a cat, forget about it!)
