Sheer Yoke Dresses
I really need to go to American Apparel and buy one of their Sweetheart Two-Toned Mini Dresses ($46). I was resisting for a while after seeing so many girls in Los Angeles pairing them with booties but the trend isn’t going anywhere and I’m obsessed with the cobalt/navy version. Maybe I can convince my Forever21Report partner to take a trip with me down to American Apparel’s warehouse to see if I can get the dress with a discount.

eDressMe is having a major Labor Day sale, offering up to Up To 90% Off Designer Dresses! Take this Color Block Front Belted Dresses by Kitty, for example. It reminds me of the colorblock dresses worn by Molly Sims and Jamie King I fell in love with earlier this year—and it’s only $40! If they had it in my size it would be at my doorstep just in time for Fashion Week. Sigh.

Last night, I traded a Kate Spade purse for this Oscar de la Renta gown. I know, I’d be jealous too if I read that. It was at What Goes Around Comes Around’s vintage swap party. Guests brought one to three items and were given an A, B or C ticket upon arrival depending on the value of what they were swapping. I only got a C but my sweet, sweet friend gave me her B so I could get the gown. Now I just need to figure out where I can wear it!

Every since I can remember, I’ve always loved girlie pieces. My ruffled satin Disney princess pajamas paved the way for the feminine dresses I now can’t resist. Vince’s Floral Ruffle Dress is one of those items. I bought it on sale at Saks and now have styled it six ways.

Lady-like dresses are incredibly versatile. I’d wear this Calvin Klein Sleeveless Organza Contrast Sash Dress
($138 $39.99) with a cardigan, pumps and strand of pearls at the office then flirty heels and a sparkly statement necklace for an evening event. The contrasting blush and brown allows the dress to work for both morning and night and the ruching and relaxed fit makes it flattering for most body types.

With everyone so concerned about recycling clothing and trying to find as many ways as possible to re-wear an item, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen have designed a functional solution: the Elizabeth and James Convertible Trench Coat ($595 $297.50). The belted, double-breast coat is a classic worn regularly. But then you can strip it down into cool, cropped jacket or a chic, sleeveless dress. Considering you get three styles in one garment, the $300 price tag isn’t so bad.
