ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Birthday Bell
Today was Bunny Bell’s birthday. I was going to have a garden party for her and her friends with puppy pie for the pups and sangria for the adults. But the weather ruined our plans. So instead of wearing a pink dress to match her party hat, I threw on a thermal and tights. I usually wrap the belt three times around my waist but it only went two and half times around my hips. Instead of creating additional belt holes I just tucked the top layer under the first and it surprisingly was not noticeable. But who was looking at me anyway with a such a cute dog on my shoulder?

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Afternoon Drive
Today I needed something that was appropriate for work but still comfy enough for my trip down to San Diego. A knit sweater and leggings did the trick. It was strange being by the beach in boots but it’s been pretty cold for SoCal standards. Plus, black was the perfect choice for my reunion with Bunny. I hadn’t seen my dog for an entire month so needless to say she immediately jumped onto my lap—and I welcomed her with open arms.

ttF Fashion Diary: Pixelated Garden
I tried going to Runyon Canyon this morning but since it was a beautiful day there was zero parking. So I came back to change and go for lunch at Cuvee on Robertson, so delicious. Clearly, I was still feeling my neon theme from last night’s space party.

ttF Fashion Staples Series: Rosy Ritz
Today I wanted to dress comfy because we were driving three hours from San Francisco to Paso Robles. But I still had to look cute for some quick souvenir shopping in Chinatown and our departing lunch at the Ritz. An embellished cardi instantly adds a mini glam factor to even the most basic ensemble.

Last month, a reader asked how to elongate her petite frame. I explained that nude shoes are the easiest solution. A peep-toe platform is the most flattering—and timeless—option but these Dolce Vita Cajun High Heel Gladiator Sandals ($138) are a trendy way to add height. The stacked sole makes them more comfortable, or at least as comfortable as a 4.25-inch heel can be. They remind me of a pair of Christian Louboutin sling backs I saw at Barneys the other week. Except they don’t have the obnoxious look-at-me red sole, and they’re almost one-tenth of the price. Plus, Shopbop.com is offering free shipping on all orders over $100 through July 31. If I hadn’t just bought two pairs of shoes recently, I would definitely add these to my cart.
