There was no post yesterday because I never really left my house since I was overwhelmed with my flights getting canceled. This morning, I thought I was going to have to miss the first day of shows at Fashion Week so I bought an ice cream cone to cheer up. But I have probably the most amazing mother ever and she was able to score the last seat on a red eye that leaves tonight—in two hours actually, which means bye bye sunny, green Los Angeles and hello snowy, gray New York.

Tonight I attended Traver Rains’ The Ranch LA Exhibit presented by Gaudy PR. Traver, who is the co-designer of Heatherette with Richie Rich, was debuting a new line of t-shirts and showing his impressive photography skills. One side of the room featured his Montana series of models is stunning clothing shot in his home state (Traver’s brother even handmade the remarkable wood frames.)
My outfit ended up matching the other side of the room, filled with more provocative photographs of naked cowboys and a sexed up Aubrey O’Day.

I ordered this skirt online after lusting over the brocade shown at Milan Fashion Week. It’s just short enough that I can wear it to work with tights, and then clip into more brocade and sit on a leopard shoe chair before going with my friends to Playhouse on a Friday night.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Helping Haiti
Random spot to take a photo, I know. But I had to deposit money into my checking account today so I could donate to the Art Creation Foundation for Children. An old friend of my mother’s started this charity back in 2000 to help children in Jacmel, Haiti with education and personal growth. Their building is one of the few structures still standing after the devastating earthquake so they’ve become a central aid point in Jacmel. ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Rainy Rhinestones
LA is so weird. I woke up this morning and it was drizzling. So I threw on a trench and my embossed faux snakeskin boots that repel water. By 12:30, it was sunny with blue skies. Thank goodness I didn’t go with my full-on Burberry rain boots.
Instead of taking lunch, I hit up a pre-Sundance gifting suite at the W hotel in Westwood. They were preparing celebs for Park City’s cold weather with EMU boots, Junk Food long-sleeved tees, Bobi basics that are great for layering and a bunch of beauty products from Pop beauty, Too Faced cosmetics and Np2 (which makes really cool nail polish that I can’t wait to try once my nails stop peeling). Fierce jewelry was also bedazzling guests with sparkly accessories for the Golden Globes. They were nice enough to give me this cool snake ring. I love the way it looks with my rhinestone top and considering Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are designing a line of snake jewels with Asprey, the reptile trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
