Perhaps it’s because I’m going to Boston today but I could not stop scrolling through the coats that are part of Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale. I especially like this Via Spiga Plaid Wool Blend Trench Topper ($188 $119.90). You can basically wear anything underneath and still look stylish. Plus, it never will go out of fashion.

Lucky’s Guides On What to Look For When Buying a Coat
A ThinkThruFashion reader recently asked me about coats. I’m going to come up with some of my faves for fall and spring but in the meantime, check out this video above of Lucky magazine’s tips on buying a coat. Creative director Andrea Linett shows examples of military, cocoon, princess coats and everything in between. One option is only $35!
ttF Daily Fave: Tulle’s 24-Hour Sale

My friend made it to Tulle’s sample sale over the summer and walked away with amazing stuff for very little money. Well now, you don’t have to go downtown because Tulle is having a one-day sale online. Tomorrow, November 3 at 12 am PST, you’ll be able to get sweaters, blouses, pants, dresses and jackets all for under $10 at www.tulle4us.com! Supposedly merchandise sells out fast. So make sure you set a reminder.
I’m hoping either this very Jackie O wool tapered coat or the patent vinyl trench is part of the sale!
Fall 2009 Paris Fashion Week Trends: Excited For… Collarless
We saw some collarless coats in New York, but in Paris they were all over the catwalk. I especially liked the swing coats, with their retro 60s feel. It’s a fitting trend now that we have a new Jackie O in the White House.

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Hesitant About… White Outerwear
I love white. I even wanted a white coat last fall but my friend talked me out of it because it wasn’t practical. But I think I’m going to get one this year; I’ll just be extra careful, because in this economy we can’t afford to frequent the dry cleaner.
