This just in: Costco now sells Chanel and Louis Vuitton! Granted, they’re still way out of most people’s price range but just the fact you can actually get high designer goods while buying Kirkland oatmeal in bulk is a pretty cool concept. But don’t expect to see quilted and monogrammed bags in every warehouse. So far, they’ve only been spotted in the new Harlem location. Those lucky New Yorkers.

A Very Chanel Columbus Day

In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
For Spring 2010, Chanel went red, white and blue.
Happy Columbus Day!

ttF Daily Fave: Fashion’s Night Out
By now I’m sure you’ve heard of Fashion’s Night Out, the style stimulus plan Vogue editrix Anna Wintour put together to get people around the world out in the store to shop. Well, there are 700 retailers participating in New York City alone! I’m extremely overwhelmend. Thankfully, some of my blogging pals like Madison Avenue Spy and Butterfly Diary have put together a best-of list to help out. Not on their list? Chanel. Chanel is giving people the chance to create customized Chanel bags at their 15 East Fifty-seventh Street location. How cool is that?! Anyone want to lend me a few thousand dollars?
The Ladylike Handbag: Chanel and Cole Haan

Even though chain bags have become increasingly popular over the past year, they’ll always remain a classic. Of course, Chanel is the holy grail of quilted chain handbags. But there are so many other options right now that you don’t drop a thousand dollars to achieve the same lady-like elegance. I like my red Cole Haan purse just as much as my vintage Chanel. The chain is even removable, so I can wear it as a clutch when I don’t want the gold to compete with the rest of my outfit.

ttF Daily Fave: Les Tissages De Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect
My girl Amber introduced me to Chanel’s Fall 2009 makeup collection in her blog, Beauty Blogging Junkie. I just cannot get over the Les Tissages De Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect ($45). The contrasting colors in the compact are woven together to mimic the iconic jackets every woman covets. It’s so pretty, I’d be scared of using the shimmering powder in fear of messing up the artistic design!
Line Your Lashes in Gold Like Lo Bosworth
I’m a big fan of gold eye makeup. It just goes so well with a summer tan. But I was surprised to hear that for the MTV Movie Awards, MAX Factor celebrity makeup artist, Jake Bailey, only used gold to line Lo Bosworth’s bottom lashes (pictured on top). I usually dust gold eyeshadow on my lids. I never thought of using it to line my eyes.
Bailey wanted to create a simple eye to go with the reality star’s bright lips. I followed Bailey’s advice and gave it a try myself (pictured on bottom). I didn’t have the same products as he used for Lo so I substituted Chanel eye shadow in Slate with Stila eyeshadow in Cloud to swipe on my lids. I then wet a brush and lined my lower Lashes with the gold from my Stila Gold Glow eyeshadow trio since I didn’t have MAX Factor MAXeye Liner in Gilt Complex. I topped it all off with two coats of mascara as recommended. I think this is going to be my new day eye. It’s subtle but the stripe of gold adds a glam factor, perfect for days when I have to go straight from work to an event.
Want the same bright pink lips as Lo Bosworth? Pucker up with MAX Factor Vivid Impact Lipcolor in Sweet Tart. Bailey also recommends Rose Rage and Ms. Terious for light, bright shades to keep your look fresh.
