ttF Fashion Diary: A W Afternooon
Craaaaazy day. I had to run errands downtown this morning to help my friend find a costume for the space party I’m throwing him tonight. Then I stopped by Angeleno’s pre-Oscar event at the W Hotel in Hollywood and then the lovely Sinead, aka Self Tanning Queen, put together a blogger event at her suite at the posh hotel (Her assistant Carrie and I are posing with our moustache jewelry below).

Mind you, it’s 8:30pm, I just got home and have not yet cleaned, decorated or figured out my costume. The party starts in an hour.

But back to daytime: I needed an outfit that I could run around in and be comfortable. A tunic, boyfriend cardi and leggings did just the trick. Ok, gtg. Need to set up for my soiree!

DBG tunic, Vince cardigan, Forever 21 Fab leggings (I always stock up on these because they’re only $4.50! They’re in the get the look shopping gallery below), Hogan boots, Demistasse necklace, earrings (can’t remember)

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: All Buttoned Up
Black pants and a white button-up often has the tendency to make you look like a waiter. But puff sleeves and a brooch—and a pop of orange at the wrist—take the outfit of catering territory.

Forever 21 top, H&M pants, vintage brooch, Stuart Weitzman boots, Juicy Couture watch, Target headband

Fashion Staples Used: Crystal Brooch

ttF Fashion Staples Outfit #1: January Sparkle

january-outfit-breakdown1

This is the first outfit of the ttF Fashion Staples Series. For the next 31 days, I will incorporate at least one of the above staples into my daily ensembles. At the end of the month, I will have worn each staple at least six times. Stay tuned!

1. Embellished Cardigan (J. Crew) — Mine is sold out but the gray version is currently on sale ($168 $99.99).

2. Silk Blouse (Banana Republic) — I found this top ages ago and wear it every single year. The store’s most recent version has a feminine ribbon detail ($69.50).

3. Reversible Belt (Target) — I bought this belt in the boy’s section of Target for about 8 bucks. You can probably find one in your local store. If not, this Levi’s belt ($14 $9.80) is equally inexpensive.

4. Men’s Watch (ESQ) — My accessory is extra special because it used to be grandfather’s. If you don’t have an heirloom piece in your family, this Seiko Watch($254) has a vintage feel.

5. Dark Skinny Jeans (Forever 21) — I love designer denim as much as the next girl. But for under $25, Forever 21’s jeans are hard to resist. The only problem is they all fit so differently. If you order them online, make sure to get duplicates in multiple sizes.

6. Tan Flat Boots (Stuart Weitzman) — These shoes were a Christmas present from my mother. She originally wanted them for herself but they only had my size left. Lucky me! Try Steve Madden’s Immense Boots ($199.95) for a similar look. And make sure to enter SMFREESHIP at checkout for free shipping.

ttF Daily Fave: Nine West Fall Extra 30% Off Sale

Nine West Boots on Sale Extra 30% OffNine West is currently offering an additional 30% off FALL FOR SALE styles. I was browsing the sale and fell in love with these western Gorn boots ($179 $149.99 $104.99 + Free Shipping!).

I have cognac and black casual boots that I adore but these are the first blue leather ones I’ve seen in a while that I like. I picture wearing them with skinny jeans and my boyfriend cardigans, button downs and oversize sweaters. Plus, they have a rubber sole, which makes them great for walking.

ttF Daily Fave: Steven by Steve Madden Inragee Low Wedge Boot

Steven by Steve Madden Low Wedge BootsI don’t want to think about summer ending. But these Steven by Steve Madden Inragee low wedge boots ($199.95 $143.90) get super excited about fall. I saw them in my weekly Shop It To Me Salemail and instantly fell in love. They come in cognac and black as well but I’m eyeing the gray. They’re so incredibly sleek and I’ve found that boots with a slight lift are usually more comfortable than completely flat ones. I’m going to keep checking back in hopes that they drop the price a little more. Fingers crossed!

ttF Daily Fave: Nine West Keliane Boot

Nine West Vintage America Collection Keliane BootNine West recently came out with a Vintage America Collection of shoes, handbags, clothing and accessories. It supports shoe charity Soles4Souls and has a rustic, cowboy feel. I’m eyeing the Keliane boots ($179). The antique grommets would add some rock ‘n’ roll edge to any dress and the boots would also look great over a pair of skinny jeans.
