More Alice in Wonderland Inspired Fashion: Avril Lavigne Abbey Dawn

Avril Lavigne doesn’t only sing Alice in Wonderland’s title single, “Alice,” she also designed clothing inspired by the movie. When Tim Burton’s highly anticipated flick premieres March 5, so does Avril’s Abbey Dawn limited edition junior’s rock ‘n’ roll with a whimsical twist collection online and at Kohl’s stores nationwide.
In the meantime, check out other designers who have been influenced by the Disney flick. My faves are Sue Wong’s magical dresses and Tom Binns’ edgy jewelry. Everything is making me want to throw an Alice in Wonderland party for my birthday in a couple of weeks. I don’t have the time or funds but I’d love to turn my apartment into a scene from Avril’s music video.
ttF Faves: Alice in Wonderland Fashion and Beauty

It has been seven months since Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland promos inspired me to buy a baby blue D&G dress—and stare at myself in the looking glass. And I still have yet to wear it.
Now, the movie is already premiering. Yesterday, the cast braved the London rain to walk the red carpet for the world premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square. I was hoping Helena Bonham Carter would wear the silver lattice gown with red hem from Georges Chakras’ runway. But instead the Red Queen went with white. Always quirky that one.
While I prefer Anne Hathaway in more feminine gowns the Vivienne Westwood Couture and Cadadei platforms fit right in with her good on the outside dark on the inside White Queen character.
Mia Wasikowa’s nude Valentino Couture with sweet floral lace overlay was very Alice appropriate and the only look I could see myself wearing when I’m not just at home with my looking glass. Sue Wong designed a more cocktail version in her Alice in Wonderland-themed dress collection. OPI, Swarovski and good ‘ole Urban Outfitters also created items inspired by the Disney movie that you can easily incorporate into your everyday wardrobe.
ttF Fave: Steve Madden Trinitie Pumps

I get a lot of comments on Twitter every time I wear my Steve Madden Trinitie pumps (I have them in black suede, navy suede and nude patent). So I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Steve Madden has put all the colors on sale to make way for the three new spring pastes: blue, yellow and lavender. I think need those lavender ones ASAP.
Lady Gaga’s Reindeer Hat & Miller Park Zoo’s Reindeer Dung
This past weekend, Lady Gaga got into the holiday spirit with a reindeer hat, her trademark fishnets and a see-through rubber coat-dress to have drinks at London’s Mayfair Hotel.
Strange? Yes. Shocking? No.
Much stranger are the necklaces at Miller Park Zoo’s ZOOtique gift shop. They’re made with reindeer dung!
Each “Gem,” as the Bloomington, Illinois zoo refers to the droppings, is dehydrated, sanitized and painted—and it’s developed with a tale from retired zoo superintendent John Tobias. It’s a pretty cute story:
John’s grandmother use to gather her grandchildren and take them outside on Christmas Eve to scatter homemade chocolate chips. She would tell the children that the chips would attract Santa and his reindeer to their home, because the reindeer would know that other reindeer had already visited and left droppings…
I just don’t know how I feel about wearing feces around my neck.
I much prefer wearing a beaded reindeer on my chest. The J. Crew reindeer tee is sold out online, but I saw a bunch when I was at the San Diego store last weekend. Now I regret not buying one.
ttF Daily Fave: Steve Madden Scratch & Shop Cards
Last weekend I went to Steve Madden to buy one pair of gray pumps. I left with four boxes of shoes.
What caused the mini shopping spree? Steve Madden’s Scratch & Shop Cards.
I was lucky enough to scratch my way to 40% off my entire purchase. They didn’t have the gray heels I wanted in my size so I instead used my serious discount on the Trinitie pump ($79.95-$99.95) in navy, black and blush and the Cielo wedge
($129.95).
When I checked out, I got yet another card (this one was 30% off), valid from 12/8-12/16. So I might just have to make another trip to Steve Madden to buy the pumps in more colors. They’re pretty comfortable for a 4½-inch heel and way less expensive than the Brian Atwood Maniac Pumps that celebrities can’t get enough of.
Don’t feel like going to the store? Steve Madden’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday 25% off + free shipping deal is still valid through December 7. Click the button below to start shopping and enter MADDEN25 at checkout.
