At fashion week a handful of bloggers received a three day complimentary cleanse from Blueprint Cleanse. I was not one of them. So instead of spending about $75/day to join my fellow fashion and beauty bloggers I tried a DIY version.
I spent $35 on fruits and veggies at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market and $8 on agave and cayenne pepper at Trader Joe’s. The company doesn’t list recipes but they provide ingredients. The Blueprint Renovation cleanse consists of Green Apple, Spicy Lemonade, Carrot Apple Beet Ginger Lemon, Pineapple Apple Mint and Cashew Nut Milk juices. I spent two hours juicing and came up with my own variations, but plenty to get me through three days. Not that it mattered, because I never made it that far…
Day One
9am: 1 cup Pineapple Mint Apple. Upset because my drain is clogged from disposing of the pulp when juicing the night before.
11am: 1 cup Green (made with romaine, celery, green apple, spinach, kale, parsley, lemon and agave)
12pm: Starving. Cheat and have a handful of shredded wheat. Hope it helps with my headache.
2pm: 1 cup Carrot Apple Beet Ginger Lemon with a little cayenne pepper (I forgot to make the Spicy Lemonade so I used cayenne pepper in other juices to make up for it).
3pm: Cheat again with another handful of shredded wheat. Headache’s still there.
3:15pm: 1.5 cups of Pineapple Apple Mint. Feel extremely bloated. Buy Draino. (more…)

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Burberry’s 3D Debut
Burberry Prorsum made fashion history tonight when the label live-streamed its Fall 2010 collection around the world. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Los Angeles event, hosted by The Daily Beast’s Tina Brown, at Milk Studio. Because of the time zone difference, we were the only city that didn’t see the show while Kate Hudson, Kristen Stewart, Mary-Kate Olsen and Claire Danes watched in London from the front row.
My blazer and new lia sophia chain and pearl necklace took me from the office straight to the event—and matched oh so well with the 3D Burberry glasses we were given for our virtual front row seat. And it took me long enough but I finally am taking a liking to the over the knee boot. Burberry’s leather ones for fall were absolutely killer. And they didn’t look trashy whatsoever since they were paired with knee-length skirts and covetable outerwear.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Mixed Prints
New York Fashion Week actually ends tomorrow but today’s my last day—and what a great day it has been. After Nanette Lepore in the morning, I checked out lia sophia’s new jewelry collection then stopped by the Nintendo DSi Lounge to get an Oscar Blandi blowout, Temptu airbrush makeup touch up and an Essie mani. After the pampering sesh, I got a preview of Spanx’s new swimwear line, as well as what’s in store for fall, and then headed back to the tents for Milly.
Today’s highlight was definitely Marchesa. Georgina Chapman is a designing genius when it comes to feminine masterpieces and I was mesmerized by each and every gown. I shared a cab back to Bryant Park with Catherine of Red Carpet Fashion Awards—she’s featured in the March edition of Vogue!—then watched Alexandre Herchocovitch’s show before ending my day front row at Brian Reyes. It’s been such a wonderful week but I have to go back to Los Angeles so I can break down all the trends I saw on the runway!

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Neon Stripes
I asked a photographer in the tents to take a picture for me today. It’s my lease favorite picture yet—and he cut off my feet! At least my day was fab. After starting off the morning front row at Carlos Miele I went on to Jill Stuart and Tracy Reese. Then I had lunch with the awesome Budget Babe, got to see Monique Lhullier’s stunning dresses, and then interviewed the designer and Phillip Bloch (again) backstage—you can read about it on mystyle. Then I had front row again at Tadashi Shoji and Ecco Domani before ending my fashion-filled at Perry Ellis. All the front row seats gave me the opportunity to snap some beautiful runway pics that I uploaded to Twitter.

I’m always mesmerized by what people wear to fashion week. Some dress to the nines, teetering around in Louboutins carrying Chanel bags. Others remain low key, as if they have just popped out of the office to take in a show. And I would say about half of the people in the tents dress with the intent of getting noticed. In just about every show I’ve attended this week, at least one person has been wearing a furry Russian style cap or blinged out sunglasses, like the Kerin Rose shades shown at Christian Siriano. In the video I did above for the Style Coalition, I talked to a few people about the styles we’ve been seeing on the spectators at fashion week. Two of the people interviewed were very fashionable. The others? Well, let’s just say they were part of the bunch that wanted to get noticed.
