ttF Giveaway: L’Occitane Natural Beauty Products

Whenever I’m sunburned I always slather on L’Occitane’s After-Sun Balm Lotion ($24). The formula, which is made in Brazil with organic vegetable butter of Cupuaçu, is less greasy than aloe and smells delicious. It’s prevented me from peeling almost every time I come back from a beach vacation.

And it’s only one of L’Occitane’s many wonderful natural beauty products. I’m also a huge fan of their Organic Lavender Body Lotion ($24). I have a travel size I keep in my carry-on bag.

Now those are just a couple of my faves. The socially responsible company has a large variety of fragrances, skincare, lotions and gels and more. And they’re offering ThinkThruFashion readers the chance to try out some of their products for free!

One lucky winner will be able to pick up to $75 worth of products from the L’Occitane site. Pretty sweet deal, right? All you need to do to enter is fill out the form below (please note, you must be located within the continental US). The winner will be announced they day before New York Fashion Week on September  8th. Good luck!

ttF Faves: 50 Uses for Vaseline

I knew petroleum jelly shines teeth, moisturizes hands and can be mixed into a lip gloss. But I never realized just how versatile this drug store staple can be. BellTV’s beauty expert, Zelana, shares 50—yes 50!—ways to use petroleum jelly. Check it out in the video above.

And I promise ttF Fashion Staples Series posts will return shortly. As my followers on   Twitter know, I was on vacation and my camera and phone decided to stay in Miami.

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Pulls and Princess Roses
This weekend I’m going to work with stylist Reinaldo Irizarry on a a two-day fashion shoot. Yesterday, he went down to pull from stores in San Diego so today, I joined him downtown in Los Angeles to get the last bit of jewelry and shoes for the shoot. We picked up goodies from Chic Little Devil, A-Line Media and the California Market Center. When I got home there was a box from Disney. I started unwrapping the roses inside and discovered Cinderella’s face. My parents got me princess roses for my birthday! I’ve never seen printed flowers before and from a first-hand experience, if you ever send them as a gift, the recipient will be extremely touched.

ttF Faves: Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrows

Anastasia At Home Eyebrow Kit ReviewI’ve noticed something off about my eyebrows for a while now. I just couldn’t put my finger on it—and neither could the numerous estheticians I tried in search of a new eyebrow expert. It only took Claudia, an associate at Anastasia’s new Brentwood salon, one minute to figure out the problem.

“You’re eyebrows are uneven,” she told me at last night’s Lights, Camera, Fashion! pre-Oscar beauty event “One arch is higher than the other.” With this new information I looked in the mirror and saw exactly what she meant. I was horrified. Had I really been walking around with uneven brows for the past few months?

Luckily, Claudia assured me that we could slowly fix the problem over my next few visits. At $45/waxing the solution doesn’t come cheap but at least I don’t have to worry about trying out any new salons. See, Claudia’s trick wasn’t just that she’s a lovely woman who knows her stuff. She used Anastasia’s techniques.

I was always hesitant about eyebrow stencils but Anastasia has developed outlines that compliment people with all different bone structure. And by using these stencils you can guarantee symmetry. If you can’t make it to a salon, there are a few different at home kits you can try so you don’t end up with uneven brows that take months to fix.

Red Eye Makeup Done Right

Red Eyes in New OrleansI was just discussing last week how much I hated Rihanna’s red eyeliner at the American Music Awards. Some of you may disagree but I thought it  looked like dried blood leftover from an eyelift. Mila Kunis’ smokey crimson eyes back at the Emmys were much prettier—but the color was subtle.

I was hesitant about bold red eye makeup until a friend emailed me this photo of two adorable sisters rocking candy apple lids and a whole lotta leopard with their mom at the Original New Orleans Ladies, Kids & Men Buckjumpers traditional Second Line parade.

How awesomely 80s is this picture?!
