ttF Fashion Staples Series: Bye Bye January!
I cannot believe January is over. The month flew by! For my final look with January’s staples, I used J. Crew’s embellished cardigan to add sparkle to a basic LBD. I know I said I would incorporate at least one fashion staple everyday and Saturday has already been covered. But my girlfriends and I were planning on going to Ne-Yo’s Grammys midnight brunch. And 12am is technically Sunday.
The scene at the party was actually awful so we ended up at Bar Marmont—and I’ve spent the rest of the day in my pajamas. Now it’s time to put all the looks together and see how many times I wore each of the 6 staples. Stay tuned…

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Ph8 Party
Earlier in the week I told you guys about Bebe’s new athletic line, PH8. It’s replacing Bebe Sport but the line isn’t only stylish workout wear. I checked out the store in Beverly Hills in an outfit very similar to one of the looks in a Kmart Skirt, 6 Different Looks post I did last year.
I tried on embellished tees, trendy moto jeans, shoes, maxi dresses and this adorable skirt (which I obviously had to buy). It reminds me of the draping at Burberry Prorsum during London Fashion Week—and I plan on wearing it very soon at New York Fashion Week.
Attention skirt, Ya-Ya sweater, Target belt, Nine West boots, Cole Haan bag

ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary:
I ordered this skirt online after lusting over the brocade shown at Milan Fashion Week. It’s just short enough that I can wear it to work with tights, and then clip into more brocade and sit on a leopard shoe chair before going with my friends to Playhouse on a Friday night.
Day: Banana Republic blouse, Forever 21 skirt, tights from a shop in London, J. Crew cardigan, Cole Haan sandals, Gucci purse, lia sophia earrings, Twisted Silver Sunshine ring
Night: Banana Republic blouse, Forever 21 skirt, Manolo Blahnik sandals, lia sophia bangles, vintage necklace
Fashion Staples Used: Silk Blouse

ttF Fashion Diary: M∙A∙C Pro to Pro Party
Last night I went to an incredibly cool cocktail party: M∙A∙C Cosmetics hosts annual events for its makeup artists and this one’s theme was Typography. Models’ nude bodies were fully painted with MAC Pro products and displayed around the big space at Milk Studios. It was one big art installation with beautiful people.
“Type design is one of the most visible and widespread forms of graphic expression in daily life. It is still not noticed by all readers of newspapers, magazines or books. Nevertheless letter forms reflect the style of a period, and its cultural background. We are surrounded by them everywhere.” – Hermann Zapf, German Typographer

ttF Fashion Staples Series: Sweet Pleats
I used to be anti shorts with tights. But I think I’ve converted. I ordered these high waist shorts from Forever 21 and didn’t feel like waiting till it warmed up to wear them. They came with the most hideous belt. My fashion staple instantly fixed that
This is one of the cases where the outfit looks much better live. The pleats and the textured tights just didn’t photograph too well. The silly glasses, of course, came out perfectly.

So what’s with the shades?
This Sunday, at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher are going to do a special tribute to Michael Jackson that will feature the 3-D mini-movie for “Earth Song,” which MJ created but was never aired. Through January 31, Target stores nationwide are giving away these 3-D glasses so you can see the film in all its glory when the Grammys air on CBS.
Walter top, Forever 21 shorts, tights I bought at some random shop in London, Twisted Silver Tapestry choker worn as a bracelet, vintage necklace (was my mother’s when she was younger), Calvin Klein pumps
