Last year, there were a pair of the most beautiful gray marble YSL pumps under the Christmas tree. And they were for me! Unfortunately, they didn’t fit—nor did the size above or below. For nearly 365 days, I’ve been searching for an alternative but nothing is good enough. I don’t usually like to settle but I think it’s time. I have to go the mall tomorrow so I’m going to pop into Steve Madden to try on their gray suede pumps. If those aren’t comfortable, I’m thinking of ordering these Stuart Weitzman Platswoon ($298). But the practical part of me is pushing for the much cheaper rsvp Kaily
($83) pumps. They’re no YSLs but the purple platform is pretty cute.
Today is Fur Free Friday, an annual, global protest against fur on one the biggest shopping days of the year. If you’re a regular ThinkThruFashion reader you already know my thoughts on fur: I only do faux.
My absolute favorite retailer for faux fur is Fabulous Furs. It’s ridiculously soft and looks and feels incredibly authentic. I have their faux Ruched Chinchilla Throw ($399) and pillows ($59-$69) on my couch and earlier this month I wore their Brown Ruffled Mink jacket ($169) the entire weekend I was in Boston—which brought me beaucoup compliments from friends and random people on the street.
