ttF Daily Faves hibernated during Fashion Week but they’ve returned now that all the spring trends are covered. For the rest of October, I’m dedicating each Daily Fave to my fave holiday, Halloween. Yesterday was Heidi Klum’s costume tips. And today is In Style’s new The Twilight Saga: New Moon makeovers.
Everyone wants to be a vampire these days, and if you can’t get a MAC makeup artist to turn you into one, all you need to do is upload a picture of yourself on to Instyle.com. I transformed into Rosalie, but Alice, Esme, Jane and of course Bella are also available. Alice probably would have been a better choice considering Nikki Reed pulls off blonde hair way better than I do.
There are even Edward, Jacob and Carlisle options if your hubby wants to join in on the Twilight fun too.

I recently attended a friend’s wedding in Guatemala and was instantly intrigued by the local women’s clothing. Vibrant colors were hand-woven into unique patterns. Some even had intricate beading that would probably cost $200 if you bought it at a department store. The Guatemalan woman and girls wore the woven skirts tied at the waist with a colorful belt over patterned ponchos. Here, I’ve shown how you can take traditional garb from your vacation and blend it into your modern look back home. I picked up a few of the pieces at a market in Antigua (probably for way over price since I posses absolutely zero bargaining skills). Still, each item was much less than I would have paid in America and I was supporting the hardworking locals.
1. Beaded Belt
Forever 21 jumpsuit, Guess sandals, jade bangles from Antigua market
2. Fabric Belt
Vince dress, Forever 21 necklace, Kors Michael Kors sandals.
3. Poncho
Charley 5.0 denim leggings, Cosabella tank, lia sophia bangles, MICHAEL Michael Kors Berkley sandals
Another reason I heart Heidi Klum? She loves Halloween as much as I do! I just ran across the supermodel’s top ten costume tips . Enjoy!
Heidi Klum’s Top 10 Halloween Costume Ideas
1. Sexy cat. You can make a cat costume yourself with a few things. Get a leotard and some fabric paint at places like Pearl Paint (www.pearlpaint.com) or Michaels (www.michaels.com). Then you can paint cat patterns right onto the leotard to make it more interesting. Buy a dog collar with a tag and put a fun message on it. For example, when I was a cat in 2007, I put “If lost, please return to Seal.” You can also buy cat ears and a fake tail that can be attached with a few stitches or a safety pin. Add in some sexy high heels or boots. Really go for it and paint your face like a sexy city cat. Don’t forget the whiskers!

You’ve seen how I wear my Twisted Silver Eclectic necklace as a necklace and a belt. Now it’s your chance to style it. Enter the contest below to win the same unique piece of jewelry!

I was initially drawn to Twisted Silver’s jewelry because it’s convertible. A necklace isn’t just a necklace. It can be a bracelet or a belt, too. Here, I’ve used the line’s Eclectic Necklace ($100) to illustrate what I mean.
1. I’ve styled the asymmetrical necklace as it will be shown on the site when the piece launches.
Missoni sweater, Forever 21 tank, leggings and oxford shoes.
2. It also makes a beautiful chain belt. If it’s too tight, all you need to do is add a few more links.
Forever 21 cardigan, Leg Avenue stockings, Nine West boots
The Eclectic Necklace doesn’t launch until October 27. But check back tomorrow to see how you can win it for free!
And don’t forget: ThinkThruFashion readers get 15% off their orders at Twisted Silver. Use the coupon code INSIDERS at checkout!
Halloween is my favorite holiday. So when my friend asked me if I wanted to be a model for a costume beauty story for the Los Angeles Times I didn’t have to even think twice before saying yes.
On Friday, I joined two other models at the MAC store on Robertson and was magically transformed into a vampire. Here’s a sneak peak of the ridiculously awesome bloody mouth MAC makeup artist John created for the shoot using lip stain. I’ll be posting all the behind the scene shots of my vampire makeover, as well as the Lady Gaga poker face and aquatic looks, next weekend when the article comes out in the Image section of the newspaper.
