A friend recently sent me The Hookup ($36). I’ve heard of handbag hooks for years now but I love how this one doubles as a charm when you’re not using it. You can attach the heart to a ring on your purse, and then twist it and use it as a hook when you go out to dinner so your bag doesn’t get dirty. The packaging is very elegant, making it a great gift for a friend that you heart.

Ask ThinkThru: Which Handbag Should I Buy For School?

What do you recommend to use for a school bag for a college student/grad student? I don’t want it to look like a “School bag” but need it to be functional but still stylish. –pinktulip
The Hayden-Harnett bag you’re thinking about is a great choice. When looking for a school bag you want to ask three questions:
- Is it big enough to hold my books and laptop?
- Is it strong enough to hold my books and laptop?
- Can I comfortably carry it on my shoulder?
If you don’t go with the Hayden-Harnett, I suggest trying Linea Pelle Dylan Zip Tote Handbag
($495). It has three compartments inside so you can organize your notebooks and three pockets outside for your phone, pens and keys. The dark olive or tan goes with everything and the gold hardware makes it incredibly stylish. Audrina Patridge, Vanessa Hudgens and Marcia Cross are all fans.
Another option is Julie K Brie Convertible Bag ($583). You can wear it as a purse, but if your shoulder starts hurting the bag converts into a backpack. While the grape is fun (and trendy for fall), the slate goes with everything.

ttF Daily Fave: BCBG Max Azria Cais Sandals
I hate wearing flats to work so I’m always on the lookout for a shoe that won’t kill my feet. I saw these BCBG Max Azria Cais Sandals ($202 $161.60) when I opened my Shop It To Me Sailmale today. Everything about them looks promising: a stacked moderate heel, cushioned sole and elasticized straps. I just wish they were 40% off instead of 20.

ttF Daily Fave: 50% Off British Movies at Amazon

I just stumbled upon Amazon’s 50% Off British Movies sale. The Brits definitely have some good flicks. But I’m eyeing the Absolutely Fabulous – Absolutely Everything DVD Set
($129.98 $76.99). It’s 1186 minutes of Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley’s hilarious ‘90s TV show. I could spend the entire weekend with Patsy and Edina. Plus, shipping is free. How ab fab.

ttF Daily Fave: Vintage Swapping Parties
Last night, I traded a Kate Spade purse for this Oscar de la Renta gown. I know, I’d be jealous too if I read that. It was at What Goes Around Comes Around’s vintage swap party. Guests brought one to three items and were given an A, B or C ticket upon arrival depending on the value of what they were swapping. I only got a C but my sweet, sweet friend gave me her B so I could get the gown. Now I just need to figure out where I can wear it!
