Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Hesitant About… Fur

furI actually loved all the colorful fur on the catwalk. I’m just scared that not everyone will follow in Rebecca Taylor’s footsteps and go faux.  If you don’t know where to get good fakes, try Fabulous Furs. I’ve found all their merchandise to look and feel so incredibly real. I hope they come out with brighter versions this year!

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Hesitant About… White Outerwear

white-jacketsI love white. I even wanted a white coat last fall but my friend talked me out of it because it wasn’t practical. But I think I’m going to get one this year; I’ll just be extra careful, because in this economy we can’t afford to frequent the dry cleaner.

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Still Loving… Leather Pants

leather-pantsSome people have skinny jeans; I have skinny leather pants. I bought them when I was 17, broke the button when I gained my freshman 10 in college and can finally fit back into them. So yes, I’m happy they’re still in style.

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Excited For… Chic Clashing

mixingThe runways inspired me to be more adventurous mixing and matching prints, patterns and textures. This is a trend you can start right away. If you’re hesitant, begin slowly by staying in the same color family when combining different separates.

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week Trends: Excited For… Bright Pink

fall-pinkHot pink is huge for spring so I’m happy to see that it’s carrying into fall. I suggest buying a seasonless magenta top now in silk or chiffon that can carry you through the year.
